This curved cap mushroom is called “royal” due to its delicious and impressive fruiting bodies. In the wild, this mushroom is found in Eastern Europe, North Africa, and Central Asia.
The fruiting bodies have light brown caps. The gills are edible and white in color. They form on the ground or on the roots of deciduous trees.
The royal curved cap can grow on wood, preferably freshly cut, healthy stems of deciduous trees (kept for no longer than 3 months), with a diameter of 8-25 cm and a length of 1-1.5 m.
These mushrooms are rich in nutrients: vitamins and minerals, which is why they are often available in health food stores. They have a slightly spicy, peppery, and aromatic taste. Among other things:
- They have an effect on regulating cholesterol levels and reducing blood sugar levels.
- They are rich in calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, sodium, and zinc.
- They strengthen blood vessel walls.
- They help reduce eye pressure.
- They contain substances that help fight against cancer.

- They contain ergothioneine, an antioxidant that helps cells combat aging.
