Yellow Morel mushroom (Morchella esculenta) mycelium on grain. One 5 litre bag.
Garden growing instructions
Choose a shaded area, preferably with sandy or sandy loam soil that is not overly fertile. A site near where dry garden branches have previously been burned is recommended.
Prepare the growing medium using 8 parts peat, 2 parts sawdust, 5 parts wood ash and 1 part gypsum. Moisten to approximately 70%, mix with the spawn and place the mixture in a garden hole or trench. Cover the area with a thin layer of pine or spruce bark. The first mushrooms may appear the following spring or after 2–3 years, sometimes several metres from the planting site.
Growing conditions
Keep the substrate at 14–21 °C during colonization. Maintain 85–95% humidity during fruiting and provide good fresh air circulation. Harvest when the caps have fully formed and rounded.
The bag has microfilters for protection and air circulation. Refrigerate until use. Growing instructions are included.
